Anna Deutsch  —  Work  —  About

I am a writer and editor living in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I specialize in editorial direction, content strategy, and social media.

Career:
In 2014, I joined Barneys New York as Senior Fashion Editor, where I spear-headed feature-writing and social media initiatives ranging from designer profiles, influencer collaborations, and on-the-ground reporting from international fashion weeks.

Now, as Barneys’ Editorial Director, I stategize, approve, edit, and assign all content, managing an in-house team, as well as external creatives. I also oversee tone and copy across all digital channels, including email marketing and social media.

In 2018, I oversaw the launch of The Barneys Podcast and have been executive producer for 3 seasons. Guests have included Cleo Wade, Victoria Beckham, Rick Owens, Phoebe Robinson, Tan France, Elaine Welteroth, Dapper Dan, Diet Prada, and more.

A bit more background...
I started my career in fashion with gigs at W and InStyle, before relocating to Sydney, Australia, where I lived for nearly 5 years. I worked at InStyle Australia and launched their website. I then became Fashion News Editor at SHOP Til You Drop, Australia's highest selling fashion magazine at the time, which focused on the art of shopping with insider tips.

After returning to New York in 2012, I started freelancing for Fashionista, Elle.com, Rhapsody (a monthly luxury lifestyle and literary magazine exclusively for United Airlines premium-cabin passengers), and more. I then became the first North American Content Editor of Soho House’s private members' website, House Seven, where I produced weekly lifestyle content ranging from art and fashion to travel, and tech. I started at Barneys New York in January of 2014.
